Passionate Book Fair 2013



The objectives of the book fair
To promote books and reading as cultural entertainment among the Malaysian public
To promote the importance of reading and cultivate the reading habit among Malaysian
To encourage the development and use of books in Malaysia
To promote professionalism in book industry and coordinate book development activities

Target Group
Bachelor students who seek the opportunities for higher education other than National Universities
Teenagers who wish to follow the private education
Fresh graduated students from high school
Parents who wish to cultivate the reading habits on their children

Implementation measures
In order to achieve the objectives of the book fair, the organizer promotes this event through media such as newspapers, broadcasting on the radio, websites, brochure and posters. Effective advertising increases the number of local people who will know about your book fair, which increases the number of probable attendees. In additional, increased community support to ensure that the event will continue in subsequent years. Organizing seminar talk in the national universities to encourage students’ participation.

Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) 

Introduction

The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) was created on 27 March 2004 to take charge of higher education in Malaysia which involves more than 900,000 students pursuing higher education in 20 public universities, 33 private universities and university colleges, 4 foreign university branch campuses, 22 polytechnics, 37 community colleges and about 500 private colleges. The MOHE’s mission is to create a higher education environment that will foster the development of academic and institutional excellence. It is in line with the vision of the government to make Malaysia a centre of educational excellence and to internationalise of Malaysian education.

There are also other government agencies involved in higher education under the jurisdiction of MOHE; namely the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional – PTPTN) and Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman (YTAR).
